How  Individuals Can Cultivate Peaceful  Communities

From Aim to Action

We are fortunate to have a system of services across the country to respond to the needs of those who are victimized, shelter programs, some with counseling and legal advocacy services are a great example. But, they do not MEET the need. The majority of people who are in an abusive relationship never reach out to a shelter. If they did, they system would be further overwhelmed, a frequent concern of the here and now.

What if we worked to meet the people where they are, in the community, with services, expectations and consequences, needed for the true reduction in domestic violence we need? It can occur, if we rethink the strategy.

Two forward thinking people's words  influence Join Me's mission, every day:

Andre Lorde-- The master's tools will never dismantle his own house.

and

Margaret Meade-- Never  underestimate the power of a small group of committed individuals to change the world. Indeed, its the only thing that ever has.

The system needs changed, Join Me in helping it happen.
